The Brief
Born and raised in Co. Donegal, Seamus has been playing golf since he was 5 years of age. As a young player, he practiced and competed regularly on local courses around the county before moving into top amateur golf representing the Ulster Senior Team at 21 years of age from where he began competing around the country.
After turning professional in 2005, Seamus moved to the USA where he played mini tours in Florida and worked with some of the best coaches in the world including Stan Utley and top swing coach Jim McClane. In 2007 he returned to Ireland and began his PGA training at Edmondstown Golf Club under Gareth McShae and his assistant Donal Scott. In 2011 he graduated from the University of Birmingham with a Professional Golf Foundation Degree and returned home to become a regular on the Irish PGA Tour. He won the Irish PGA Assistants Championship in 2012 and finished in the Order of Merit Top 30 from 2008 until 2014.
